Prayers for my brother-in-law, Elpidio, who will be undergoing surgery today in Quito , Ecuador for
stomach cancer, will be deeply appreciated.

Dear Wes,
My husband Jimmy has completed his 42 radiation, 8 chemo therapy and 1 of the triple chemos-
they had 2 planned. However,
the latter caused him to develop perpherial neuropathy. The Doctor told him that if he had the
second treatment he would probably develop
the neuropathy in his feet and legs. So Jimmy has decided against it. The treatment has taken its
toll on him. He is very weak and tired.
The medication the Doctor has put him on Gabapenton in an attempt to treat the neuropathy make
him very tired. He is also anemic
from the treatment and taking prescribed vitamins as well as eating a high iron diet in an attempt to
correct this.
We know nothing about his progress as no follow up PET scans will be done until January or
February, 2012. Please keep us in your prayers.
We listen daily to WFTS and have made a donation. We will be making one each month in an effort
to help keep WFTS on the air. We have enjoyed the DVD and CD's from you very much.
Listening to Fr. Jenkins we have learned so much or been reminded of things we had forgotten

of Chemotherapy Treatments since 2008. Each time it has returned and moved into new areas of

As you and Fr. Jenkins requested I am updating you on my husband Jimmy. He had his left lung
removed on 2/4/11. Last week he began
chemo and he has had an evaluation with the Radiation Clinic. However, they are still waiting for a
copy of his disc from the radiologist who
did his last pet scan in January. As we understand it he will undergo several weeks of each for the
cancer.
His cancer is a result of his exposure to Agent Orange in Viet Nam in 1968-69. He saw it used daily
to keep the weeds and jungle cleared
so they could see the Viet Cong when they attacked. And in Ban Me Thout where he was it was a
matter if the attacked but when- as they were
hit nightly. It was the first place over run by the Communists when US pulled out.- the Central
Highlands. Fortunately, the Veterans Adminsitration
has provided all his care at no cost to us- even when it came from outside vendors and they have
made him 100% serviced connected so basically he has a
decent pension and we have all the same benefits as retired military. That is the good side....the
dark side of this is that they suspect this cancer maybe
in more than one place...so an endoscopy will be done 4/8 and a complete ENT evaluation as that is
normally how it comes- in groups and in those areas.
That may well mean more surgeries, more chemo, and more radiation. He is a diabetic- one other
illness caused by his exposure to Agent Orange- and
his diabetes was ok on oral meds with all these treatments and related medications his blood sugar
has been off the charts and now he requires
injectable insulin 3 x daily.
We are so grateful for our Traditional Catholic Faith and the Tridentine Mass. Daily Rosary has
helped us steady ourselves throughout this
dark night. Our Blessed Mother has comforted us all so much throughout this and we know will
continue to do so. We will keep you updated
as time goes on. We enjoy WFTS so much. God Bless you both.

I had written a few months back and asked for prayers for my husband Jimmy. He has lung cancer
and finally after 6 months of tests- he will be having surgery to have his left lung removed on 2/4 -
at this point all tests have shown that the cancer has not spread! Thank God! Please consider this a
new prayer request for Jimmy as this surgery is coming up real soon. Our Pastor has given him the
sacrament of Extreme Unction
as there is a one and ten chance he will die during the surgery as the tumor is growing around the

Wes, please pray, my dad went for an endoscopy last week because he has been very hoarse,
loosing his voice and having a hard time swallowing. Turns out he has a huge growth in his throat
that takes up the entire left side vocal cord. The doctor says it definitely looks like cancer. My dad
has to go for a biopsy procedure on Thurs. at 9am. The doctor said that if it is cancer they won't be
able to remove it because of its size and location, therefore they will have to begin treatment as
soon as possible. Please pray for my father Arthur Lee Starke Sr.

Please pray for our grandson's father-in-law. Larry was diagnosed with leukemia; received chemo
treatments; endured the long process of a bone marrow transplant; and has done well for the past
few months. However, the leukemia has returned and Larry is scheduled for chemo on Tuesday.

Jose, the oil-change guy at Walmart, asked about my St. Therese & WFTS bumper stickers. I gave
